Essential Functions and Objectives:

 

The General Assignment II Paraprofessional provides advanced assistance and support to teachers and administration. Responsible for assisting teachers with both instructional and behavioral management duties. Provides students with assistance on in-class work and be of assistance in preparing student assignments and in grading student work. May also assist in the Library Media Center or the Computer Lab.

Education Requirements:

 

Copy of official/unofficial transcript(s) verifying at least 48 semester hours, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. You do not need a course-by-course, just a basic evaluation. Visit www.naces.org for approved service members).

 

OR

 

Copy of high school diploma or GED and proof of passing the WorkKeys exam in reading, business writing, and math.

 

Testing Information for WorkKeys:

 

Emily Griffith Technical College at 1860 Lincoln Street. Testing is offered, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00-12:00pm and Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00-4:00pm. The cost for all 3 exams is $40 (re-testing will incur additional fees) and tests can be scheduled by calling the Welcome Desk at 720-423-4702. Prep materials are available through Emily Griffith Technical College at www.emilygriffith.edu/testing-center and The Denver Public Library. If you need testing accommodations, contact the Emily Griffith Welcome Desk to discuss the accommodations you may need. Additional testing with accommodations is available at the Community College of Denver. Intake appointment is required, call 303-556-3300 to schedule an appointment. CCD testing is located at 800 Curtis Street, Room 121. If you need to take the WorkKeys, we highly recommend that you schedule and start the process prior to interviewing with the schools. This will help you with becoming a strong candidate and increase the speed of the hiring process if you are selected.
