The CWOCN or CWON serves as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute, chronic, and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems, such as complex draining wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, and incontinence. The CWOCN or CWON should be prepared to provide the scope of the CWOCN or CWON practice which also includes other components such as education, counseling, research, and administration.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current Colorado RN license or license from a state that participates in the National Licensure Compact required
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association required
- Current Board Certification as a CWOCN or CWON required – maintains recertification every 5 years per WOCNCB standards
- One year of RN experience required
- CWOCN, CWON Certification or other clinical experience which indicates a successful transition to this career path, required
Schedule: 16 hours/week, must be available Monday & Wednesday
Physical requirements- Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
