Equipment Operator III Signing and Striping Section

ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position is part of a multi-person paint striping, obliteration, bucket truck, aerial lift truck, thermoplastic, stencil, pavement marking, or sign installation operations. Work requires considerable skill in operating equipment or tools, and constant attention to safety of operation to prevent accidents. Duties include inspection, loading and unloading paint, performing routine maintenance, striping city streets, airport streets, taxiways and runways, thermoplastic installation, and sign installation. Some positions supervise other employees.
Currently there are 2 vacancies in the Street Transportation Department, Signing and Striping Section. This eligible list may be used by any department for any current or future vacancies over the life of the eligible list.

$18.69 - $23.98 hourly / $38,875 - $49,878 annually.

Minimum of 2 years of experience operating pavement marking/striping equipment (or related equivalent equipment), or a valid log of 120 hours on the pavement marking/striping equipment, or qualification for "out-of-class" pay as an Equipment Operator III operating pavement marking/striping equipment.
Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) permit is required at time of hire, and then Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) is required within the first six (6) months of employment.
Working irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required.
Moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.
Requires working outside in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, air pollution, and dust.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - The job requirements listed above, plus:
Current possession of a Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
Experience operating pavement marking equipment and sign installation operations.
