ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Water Services Department (WSD) is seeking individuals with experience as project engineer/project manager for the construction of new wastewater infrastructure and rehabilitation of existing facilities. The position will focus on design and construction management activities.
The Water Services Department currently has one opening in the Wastewater Engineering - Design & Construction Management Division.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
An understanding of the City of Phoenix water and wastewater systems and standards
Experience managing multiple professional services and construction contracts
Experience developing budget-level estimates for large capital projects
The current position ensures the structural, operational, and capacity needs of the City’s wastewater collection lift stations and odor control facilities are addressed. The eligible list may be used for any current or future vacancies over the life of the eligible list, including those which may also arise in other Water Services Department divisions.

$66,518 - $99,195 annually. Appointment can be made above the minimum depending upon qualifications.

Four years of experience in water/wastewater engineering and/or operations.
One year of experience supervising professional and technical staff
A bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering or a related engineering degree.
Must be registered in the State of Arizona as a Professional Engineer by the end of the 12 month probationary period, current Arizona Professional Engineer registration preferred.
Only the highest qualified will be placed on the eligible list.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The job requirements above plus:
Project management and water/wastewater infrastructure design (wastewater collection, wastewater treatment, water production, water distribution operations) experience.
One year of project management experience in complex capital improvement projects
Construction management or inspection experience for water/wastewater facilities.
