In this position of manager of Family Aftercare Services, you will oversee a small but critical department that provides comprehensive and compassionate follow up and support for donor families. In communicating with over 2500 families each year, you are responsible for writing letters, editing, proofreading and guiding your aftercare team to provide ongoing connection to Donor Network of Arizona and to the meaning of donation. You must be able to write at a professional and nuanced level. In the period of one year, you will have sent out over 40,000 letters to families. You must do this with great care and diligence. You will sometimes have direct contact with donor families for crisis intervention and direct bereavement support. Overall, you must be an empathetic and excellent communicator. A majority of your contact with families will be over the phone so you must have highly developed and sensitive phone skills.
In this full-time exempt position, you will guide your department’s team consisting of a coordinator and administrative assistants. To do this, you yourself must be emotionally resilient, positive, genuine, compassionate, intuitive, self-aware and mission driven. You must be passionate about the work of donation and understand its healing and transformative aspects for both donor families and recipients. You will be responsible for leading remembrance and donation services and activities directed toward honoring donors and their families. You will also be building relationships with the directors of transplant centers so as to create the best possibility for an exchange of letters between donor families and recipients.
You will need strong organizational and multitasking abilities. You must have excellent computer skills and be able to use Microsoft Office programs as well as learn new applications specific to donation.

Minimum Field of Expertise
Experience in working with families at times of death
Experience in writing
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
