TITLE: Mobile Operations Manager
DEPARTMENT: Regional Center
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting to the Manager of Operations, position is responsible for management and coordination of all administrative, operational, and technical activities pertaining to the collection of blood and apheresis components in a mobile donor collections setting. Will work closely with NDC Operations Management to plan collection operations, including staff levels and scheduling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned. Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.
· Oversee the administrative, clinical, technical, and operational aspects of whole blood and apheresis collections and program development to ensure adherence to all existing policies and standards.
· Maintain a high level of communication with Supervisors and Mobile staff.
· Maintain competency to act as Supervisor or staff in the Mobile and Facility setting. Perform pre-donation screening, venipuncture and post-venipuncture care of donors in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures for both Apheresis and Whole Blood donations.
· Coordinate and conduct meetings with supervisors and staff to resolve problems, set expectations and communicate information.
· Review and analyze staff performance data.
· Perform site visits/assessments of mobile blood drives for direct observations and onsite coaching. Observe staff to ensure compliance with standards and policies.
· Monitor and measure metrics to ensure the department achieves overall departmental goals.
· Prepare for, conduct and/or oversee performance appraisals for mobile collection staff.
· Monitor blood drives daily to assess efficiency and effectiveness. Address deficiencies and recognize successes.
· Coordinate and manage staff competency, proficiency and performance management programs and data.
· Initiate counseling of staff on performance problems, work with staff and supervisors to recognize successes and address deficiencies.
· Review collection and operating reports and resolve operational, production, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
· Coordinate, manage and assist in the development, revision, validation, care, preventive maintenance and implementation of the Blood Center’s Standard Operating Procedures, Regional Center’s best practices, vehicles, and operational processes.
· Assist in the development or revision of standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with new and existing policy standards.
· Assist Regional Management as needed including NDC Operations.
· Enforce The Blood Center's policies on EEO, Affirmative Action and Safety/Health.

Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in The Blood Center’s sole discretion.
Full time: must be regularly available to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, or such other days or hours per week as The Blood Center determines are necessary to meet business needs.

Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as The Blood Center determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as The Blood Center determines is necessary to meet business needs.
Manages team of subordinate Supervisors who supervise mobile drives and staff in the Donor Collections Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, scheduling and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 5 years in the donor collections environment or Medical field, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity. Phlebotomy experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CPR Certification is required within one year of employment
Valid Texas Driver’s License (Class B or Class A) and acceptable driving record*

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
