What you will do:

The Patient Care Technician / Cross Trained Assistant performs patient care and unit clerical duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Patient care duties include obtaining accurate vital signs, help with activities of daily living such as oral care, bathing, toileting, walking, passing meal trays, transporting patients, and other tasks as needed. Clerical duties will include preparing patient charts, order entry, answering call lights and phone calls, ordering and stocking supplies and keeping the nursing station clean and organized and other tasks as needed.

Position Requirements:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a professional working relationship with co-workers, physicians, patients and visitors. Listens attentively and responds appropriately, maintains a positive attitude that promotes teamwork.
  • Accurately collects, report and documents vital signs.
  • Helps patients with bathing and personal hygiene as needed.
  • Changes bedding, cleans and stocks patient rooms.
  • Answers patient call lights and provide excellent patient service in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and complete patient charts.
  • Order and stock office and unit supplies.
  • Answer phone calls and assist visitors as needed.

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: At least 1 year of fast paced hospital related experience preferred
