Job Description

Position Description:

Patient access representatives are accountable for greeting and directing patients and visitors. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Representatives must have the ability to properly collect and enter financial and demographic information into a computer, maintain patient confidentiality, provide clear and concise information to those who request it, be able to handle multiple tasks at one time, and be detail-oriented. The position tends to be fast-paced and somewhat stressful. Explains hospital’s financial policy. Distributes information to required hospital departments. Answers hospital phone and routes calls.

Position Requirements:

High School graduate or equivalent. Thorough knowledge of insurance plans and managed care; type greater than 45 words per minute; positive professional appearance and attitude; excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

1-3 Year of Experience

Medical terminology required.
