Horizon Home Care and Hospice is seeking an Intake Specialist to support the Intake team with administrative functions related to the coordination of the new patient referral process. This full-time, 2nd shift (12:00PM - 8:30PM) position is based out of our corporate offices in Milwaukee, WI. This ideal 2nd shift schedule with weekend and holiday rotation leaves your mornings free to school, family or personal commitments and still gets you home early enough in the evening to get a full nights rest!
Along with top notch computer and clerical skills, we are looking for the right personality. This can be a scary time for patients and families. Conveying a caring bedside manner over the telephone is a gift. You must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment behind-the-scenes while outwardly demonstrating empathy and confidence. We seek someone with exceptional communication and organization skills and an unflappable work ethic. We work hard and take our jobs seriously at Horizon, but that doesn't mean leave your sense of humor at home.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two-three years of medical office experience. Bachelors degree preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology a must. Electronic Health Record experience preferred. Must be computer proficient (Word, Excel, Outlook), highly organized, and dedicated to providing outstanding customer service. EPIC, Cerner and/or McKesson knowledge a plus!
