Job Summary 

 

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for all facets of processing employee internal pay for 500 employees. Responsibilities include collecting timekeeping information, calculating pay and deductions, and extensive data processing to ensure timely delivery of payroll each week. The Payroll Administrator works closely with Finance and Human Resources. 

 

  

 

Job Description  

 

· Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, entering, and reconciling employee payroll data  

 
     
  • Updates payroll records by entering changes in garnishments, exemptions, insurance coverage, bank information, and job title and department/divisions 
  •  
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages 
  •  
  • Upholds and understands payroll related deductions (HSA, Medical, LTD/STD, 401k contributions, etc.) and FLSA rules and applicable related federal and state regulations 
  •  
  • Determines payroll liabilities as needed by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments 
  •  
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information 
  •  
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests 
  •  
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes 
  •  
  • Maintains and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential  
  •  
 

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  

 

Job Requirements  

 
     
  • High school education or equivalent is required 
  •  
  • Minimum 2 years payroll related experience 
  •  
  • Minimum 2 years experience with financial/ payroll processing software such as UltiPro, ADP Workforce Now, or equivalent processing systems 
  •  
  • Experience using eCMS or similar ERP/accounting software preferred 
  •  
  • General math skills 
  •  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  •  
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision 
  •  
  • Must possess effective decision making, problem solving, and analytical skills 
  •  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 
  •  
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness while maintaining competency in completing tasks in a timely manner 
  •  
  • Meticulous organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills 
  •  
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material  
  •
