  •   DEFINITION: Under general supervision, provides a safe and productive environment for infants for the Sunnyside Unified School District.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    TASKS:
    Supervises and interacts with infants, students and staff.
    Provides safety and care for all children.
    Monitors development of infants and of student caregiving skills.
    Follows licensing guidelines and requirements set by the state and First Things First program policies; maintains paperwork; documents payments, incidents, injuries; manages staff, student, and infant files; communicates with parents, staff and program specialist regarding any issues or questions.
    Prepares plans for daily center activities; answers phones and performs daily office duties; prepares, serves and cleans up after meals; opens and closes Infant Center and performs related duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
    Knowledge of early childhood development
    Skill and certification in the use of CPR and First Aid
    Skill in the use of a personal computer
    Skill in following oral and written instructions
    Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, and repetitive motion and may require lifting up to 25 pounds.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Associates’ degree, or receipt of Associate’s degree within 24 months of hire
    A minimum of twenty-four (24) months of child care professional experience in a childcare setting or home
    Fingerprint clearance card
    Successful completion of CPR and First Aid Training within 6 months of hire
    Bilingual Preferred

    Salary Grade: 10 Hourly Pay: $12.13 Hours per Day: 8 Days in Contract: 208
