Position Run Down

Acts as a liaison between the Company and its supplier base on product and part procurement engineering and design issues to ensure that suppliers deliver quality parts and materials.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conducts first article inspections for new products and tooling, and changes to existing products (either internal engineering specifications or supplier process or tooling).
  • Maintains nonconforming material thru electronic and physical movement. May hold meetings with material owners (MRB) to disposition product.
  • Tracks supplier corrective action entries and drive timely closure while verifying effectiveness.
  • Performs parts and product troubleshooting in support of sustaining/design engineering, purchasing, and production on supplied products.
  • Creates instructions for receiving inspectors to inspect product.
  • Trains receiving inspectors on use of inspection equipment and inspection techniques.
  • Collaborates with engineering on acceptability of product to drive improvement in internal specifications.
  • Collaborates with suppliers on acceptability of product/processes to drive improvement in supplier processes.
  • Assists with process/procedure development.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Three years’ in production environment and related quality experience.
  • Familiarity with GD&T fundamentals, ISO 9001, project management, process audits.
  • Customer support experience helpful.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving / troubleshooting skills.
  • Good math skills.
  • Mechanical knowledge to include the interpretation of drawings related to the confirmation of parts they are associated with.
  • Ability to perform mechanical, electrical, and in-house inspections using industry standard tools, equipment and techniques
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
