Job Description

Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is looking for both new grad and experienced RNs to work in our pediatric acute rehab hospital unit and pediatric sub-acute skilled nursing unit. Registered nurses receive specialized on-the-job training to work in both acute and subacute units of the hospital. Patients will be between 0 and 21 years old. Full-time positions available. Hours may vary at first as we grow our census in this 81-bed facility.

Sub-Acute RN: NOC shift

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of residents within the skilled nursing setting. Responsible for ensuring continuity of care of the residents between shifts by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by CNAs, LVNs and supportive staff members. Participates in resident and family teaching. Maintains role as resident advocate with a focus on the facility’s mission.

Acute Rehab RN: NOC shift

The acute rehabilitation RN will care for patients three to twenty-one years of age who are experiencing temporary, progressive or permanent disabilities or illnesses that require rehabilitation services. The RN implements care strategies that promote physical, psychosocial, and spiritual patients learn to adapt to an altered lifestyle and/or regain self-care abilities. The RN will effectively utilize nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient needs to assure age and developmentally appropriate nursing care for children, adolescents and young adults.

Skill / Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • RN license (California).
  • Experience: one year of pediatrics or one year of rehab preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Title 22 and Joint Commission standards helpful.
