Position Summary

UNMTemps,the University of New Mexico’s internal temporary staffing department, seeks a temporary Admin Assistant/Legal to join the UniversityCounsel Office.

The duties of which the Admin Assistant/Legalwill perform but are not limited to:

  • Providesa broad range of specialized administrative support and confidentialsecretarial services a centralized legal office of the university.
  • Assistsas appropriate in routine aspects of factual research, and prepares variousroutine and specialized administrative documents and correspondence requiringknowledge of legal terminology and formats.
  • Coordinatesor oversees all day-to-day office operations and administrative supportactivities.
  • Performingmiscellaneous duties as assigned.

AssignmentDetails
Days & Hours: Monday through Friday; Flexible between the hours of8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
Anticipated Start Date: TBD
Projected End Date: 3 months after the anticipated start date.

ParkingArrangements: Responsibility of the selected employee
UNMTemps provides staffing solutions to UNM departments requesting temporary employeesas positions become available due to a vacancy, when regular employees areabsent, for peak work periods, and for special events. As such, UNMTempsassignments/positions may end with little or no advance notice.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferredqualifications

  • Skilled in MS Office Suite and willingness to learn new software applications and database management systems.
  • Experience drafting correspondence, editing documents and managing calendars.
  • Ability to handle confidential information consistent with an Attorney's Code of Professional Conduct, Rules of Civil
  • Procedure and the laws of New Mexico.
  • Strong communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Professionalism is key. Must have an ability to interact professionally with senior leadership of the institution and outside counsel.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in a law office or legal setting and be familiar with legal terminology.
Additional RequirementsAbility to handle confidential information consistent with an attorney's Rules of Professional Conduct.
