Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Gallup campus is accepting applications for a Technical Analyst 3 position. As the lead technician for UNM Gallup IT, this position will manage information technology services integral to campus IT operations including: oversight of local and distributed servers, network support and security compliance and service desk management. Ensuring reliable current and future standards based service delivery will require close coordination with UNM IT resources. The Technical Analyst 3 will manage Gallup IT staff and work with Gallup administration, staff and faculty to resolve a range of service requests, promote utilization of new technologies and provide training as appropriate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work with Gallup Administration and UNM IT to evaluate proposed upgrades and manage changes to systems that streamline and optimize
workflow.

2. Work with appropriate IT resources to ensure that all systems meet or exceed UNM standards for manageability, security, and regulatory compliance.

3. Analyze and resolve incidents for Gallup-specific and UNM standards-based technology.

4. Expeditiously escalate complex problems to appropriate UNM resources for evaluation and resolution.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience running/monitoring server, network and automated workstation management systems.

2. Experience working closely with cross-functional teams/vendors to assist with projects implementation.

3. Experience working in information technology at educational institutions.

4. Experience working in standards bases tiered support structures.
